Pranav Nair recently earned his BFA in Digital Media & Design from the University of Connecticut, with a concentration in 3D Animation and relevant course experience in Industrial Design. He specializes in cinematic storytelling through 3D animation, utilizing industry-standard tools such as Cinema 4D, Blender, Redshift, and Unreal Engine 5.
His senior thesis project, “THE DEMON AWAKENS: ASURA HAYAGRIVA” received multiple accolades and recognitions, including University of Connecticut Outstanding 3D Animation Award, UCTV Film Festival Best Visual Concept award, an official nomination and finalist at the Cinematic Motor Fest based in Italy, and official nomination for the International Motor Film Awards based in London. The project involved designing an original supercar, along with a complete animation pipeline, from original concept modeling to final compositing.
As Lead Designer of a biomedical research project at the UConn Krenicki Center, Pranav spearheaded the 3D visualization and development of a low-cost retina scanner targeted for the Australian market, particularly low-income regions. The role required a blend of industrial design strategy and visual communication, which he executed through Cinema 4D, Redshift, and Rhino 7. He also mentored a fellow student in design pipeline workflows, guiding them through modeling and 3D printing practices, further reinforcing his ability to communicate complex processes and foster collaboration.
As he pursues new opportunities in dynamic work environments, Pranav is eager to contribute his passion for 3D visual storytelling and push the boundaries of what immersive graphics can be.
